Job summary

Forest Hills Center in Columbus, OH, seeks an Activity Aide to assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing and evaluating resident activity programs. You will observe mood, attendance and involvement, document progress, and interview residents or families to gather activity information.

Involve residents and families in planning goals, coordinate with other departments, and contribute to quality assurance and surveys.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, and evaluating the activity programs of this facility.
• Observe resident attendance, mood, behavior, and degree of involvement so that activity progress is evaluated, by noting, reporting, and charting resident behavior.
• Interview residents or family members to obtain activity information.
• Involve the resident/family in planning activity programs when possible.
• Refer resident/families to appropriate social service personnel when the facility does not provide the services or needs of the resident.
• Coordinate activities with other departments as necessary.
• Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining an ongoing quality assurance program for the activity department.
• Participate in facility surveys (inspections) by authorized government agencies as necessary.
• Driving clients/residents on our bus to pick them up or to drop them off at home or to appointments
