Lionstone Healthcare in Ohio is seeking an Activities Aide to support and enhance daily resident life through planning and leading engaging activities. The role emphasizes safety, teamwork with facility departments, and respect for residents’ preferences and HIPAA guidelines.

The ideal candidate will coordinate activities, assist with planning sessions, and foster meaningful interactions that promote overall well-being and happiness for residents in a care setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• English language proficiency.
• Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
• Knowledge of supply practices, procedures and guidelines.
• Ability to minimize waste of supplies and avoid equipment misuse.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, implementation, and evaluation of recreational, social, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual programs.
• Develop and maintain good rapport with other departments to ensure daily activities run smoothly.
• Participate in community planning related to facility interests and residents/families.
• Interview residents or family members to obtain activities information and involve them in planning activities.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for activities programs and prepare activity spaces.
• Provide daily activities for residents, including scheduling movies, parties, and games.
• Oversee residents in scheduled activities to promote physical, social, and mental well-being.
• Make routine visits to residents and assist with crafts and projects as needed.
• Encourage resident participation in activities to support well-being.
• Adhere to HIPAA requirements and respect residents' treatment refusals.
