Job summary

Collierville Health and Rehabilitation seeks an Activities Assistant to support resident programs and events. You will help plan, coordinate, and evaluate activities, encouraging resident participation and providing a welcoming, engaging environment for residents and families.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and 6 months to 1 year of related activity experience, with the ability to lead in the director's absence and work with residents with diverse needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent related work experience.
• Six months to one year experience performing activity related duties.
• Ability to assume leadership role in the activities department in the absence of the Activities Director.
• Skill at working with individuals who have cognitive, physical or sensory disabilities.
• Moderate physical activity: handling objects up to 25 pounds, standing/walking, bending and sitting as required.

Responsibilities

• Assists in planning, coordinating, and evaluating resident activities.
• Encourages resident participation in programs and activities.
• Escorts residents on activities away from the property as assigned.
• Assists with registration of residents for trips and programs.
• Conducts activities under direction of the Resident Program Director.
• Maintains activity supplies and may purchase items.
• Surveying residents to determine interests and satisfaction.
• Communicates observations to staff.
• Adheres to budget guidelines and safety practices.
