Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Creates and adheres to a monthly activity calendar.
• Speaks to and interacts with residents at all levels of care while showing empathy, kindness, compassion, and respect.
• Coordinates special events for residents, families, staff, and assists the community relations department as requested.
• Transports and supervises residents on outings, shopping trips, and doctor’s visits.
• Screens, recruits, trains, and coordinates all volunteers.
• Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly environment for all residents.
• Provides training, guidance, and support to staff to meet performance standards.
• Acts as facilitator and takes minutes at resident council meetings.
• Follows up on concerns discussed at resident council meetings with the appropriate department manager.
• Provides resolution for reports and documents resolution at the next resident council meeting.
• Observes and reports daily all changes in residents' health and emotional condition.
• Demonstrates the ability to set and manage priorities.
• Responds to resident requests for assistance including calls and family/visitor requests.
• Communicates effectively in a language each resident understands.
• Observes and reports safety hazards to supervisor.
• Practices good body mechanics and safe working habits.
• Follows HIPAA regulations.
• Mentors new employees.
• Takes initiative and seeks solutions.
• Takes on special projects or assignments outside regular duties.
• Serves and assists residents in dining rooms for meals.
• Assists residents with Activities of Daily Living as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
• Demonstrates a positive and respectful attitude with residents, families, visitors, and staff.
• Keeps attendance and call-off policies.
