Job summary

Villa at Traverse Point seeks a Recreational Services Aide to join their team under the supervision of the Recreational Services Director. The Aide assists in planning, implementing and evaluating recreational, physical, emotional and psychosocial activities in accordance with the resident’s assessment and care plan.

The role includes leading activity programming, helping residents attend programs and outings, maintaining family rapport, contributing to assessments, communicating concerns,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of prior experience in a relevant role, preferred.
• At least one year of experience working in a healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

• Implements activity programming as planned and assigned to meet the functional levels, needs and interests of each resident.
• Assists residents to and from activity programs and outings.
• Maintains good rapport with family members and encourages family support in programs.
• Provides input to the assessment and evaluation of the resident’s participation when requested.
• Communicates a resident’s concerns and responses to interventions to immediate supervisor.
• Supports a resident’s individual needs, preferences, customary routines and choices.
• All other duties, as assigned.
