Job summary

Villa Healthcare is seeking a Recreational Services Aide to assist in planning, implementing and evaluating recreational, physical, emotional and psychosocial programs for residents.

The role includes helping residents attend activities, maintaining family rapport, and contributing to resident assessments. A high school diploma and at least one year of healthcare experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to perform the tasks required and lead groups in activities.

Responsibilities

• Implements activity programming as planned and assigned to meet the residents' needs and interests.
• Assists residents to and from activity programs and outings.
• Maintains good rapport with family members and encourages family support in programs.
• Provides input to the assessment and evaluation of the resident’s participation when requested.
• Communicates a resident’s concerns and responses to interventions to immediate supervisor.
• Supports a resident’s individual needs, preferences, routines and choices.
• All other duties, as assigned.
