Job summary

PACS Group is seeking an Activity Assistant to support the Activity Director in delivering a creative, resident-centered activities program. You will plan and conduct activities for individuals and groups, coordinate transportation when needed, and help document progress.

You will communicate across staff, residents, and families, prepare monthly calendars, and assist with assessments and care plans. A high school diploma is required, and prior long-term care exposure is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred1 year experience in a long term care facility.
• Ability to read technical procedures.
• Ability to read and comprehend policy and procedure manuals.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and employees.
• Ability to apply fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
• Ability to solve practical problems.
• Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Responsibilities

• Participate in planning and conducting individual, small and large group activities.
• Assist in communication between staff, residents, families and external parties.
• Assist in development of monthly activity calendar and maintain attendance records.
• Assist with activity care plans and resident assessments.
• Arrange transportation for residents when necessary.
• Develop monthly activity schedules including outings and in-room activities.
• Encourage resident participation in self-initiated activities and provide necessary materials.
