Job summary

PACS seeks an Activity Assistant to support the Activity Director in planning and delivering a creative activities program for residents in a long-term care setting. The role ensures services comply with federal, state, local and corporate standards while addressing each resident's interests and needs.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma and, preferably, one year of long-term care experience. Strong communication, planning and teamwork are essential for coordinating schedules,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Preferable one-year experience in a long term care facility.
• Ability to read and comprehend policy and procedure manuals.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and employees.
• Ability to apply fractions, percentages, ratios to practical situations.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct individual, small and large group activities.
• Assist in communication between staff, residents, families and the public.
• Develop monthly activity calendar and maintain attendance records.
• Assist with discharge planning and resident assessments.
• Arrange transportation for residents as needed.
• Encourage participation in self-initiated activities such as hobbies and reading.
