Job summary

PACS Group is seeking an Activity Assistant to support the Activity Director in planning and running a creative, interactive activities program designed to meet the diverse needs of residents in a long‑term care setting. The role emphasizes safety, inclusivity, and high quality resident engagement.

You will plan activities, coordinate with staff and families, develop calendars, arrange transportation, and help document progress while promoting meaningful resident participation and well‑being.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Preferable one-year experience in a long term care facility.
• Ability to read technical procedures.
• Ability to read and comprehend policy and procedure manuals.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and employees.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct individual, small and large group activities.
• Assist in communication between employees, residents, families and public.
• Develop monthly activity calendar and attendance records.
• Assist with discharge planning and activity care plans.
• Arrange transportation for residents when necessary.
• Develop monthly activity schedule including outings and in-room activities.
• Encourage residents to participate in self-initiated activities.
• Provide reading materials in Braille or audio books as appropriate.
• Assist with assessment documentation and progress notes.
• Keep Activity Department clean, orderly and secured.
