Job summary

PACS Group is seeking an Activity Assistant to support the Activity Director in delivering a creative and engaging activities program for residents in a long-term care setting. You will help plan, conduct, and document activities while ensuring compliance with all regulatory and corporate guidelines.

The role emphasizes teamwork, clear communication across staff, residents, families, and external partners, and a commitment to meeting the physical, mental, and psychosocial needs of residents

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Preferable one-year experience in a long term care facility.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct individual, small and large group activities.
• Assist in providing good communication between employees, residents, families, and the public to ensure needs are met.
• Participate in community planning related to facility interests and resident needs.
• Develop monthly activity calendars and maintain attendance records.
• Assist in developing and implementing plans of action to correct quality deficiencies.
• Participate in discharge planning and resident assessments.
• Arrange transportation for residents for outings, appointments, and discharge.
• Develop a monthly activity schedule including outings and in-room activities for bed-bound residents.
• Encourage participation in self-initiated activities and provide necessary materials.
