  • Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities:
    • Assist in planning, developing, organizing, and implementing resident activities.
    • Develop suggestions for improving and expanding the Activities Program.
    • Maintain professional, warm, and caring relationships with residents and families.
    • Arrange transportation and escorts for residents to outside and community activities.
    • Assist in maintaining and expanding Volunteer Programs.
    • Help residents operate the residence store and maintain supplies within budget.
    • Assist residents with activities and coordinate transportation.
    • Contribute to the monthly newsletter and weekly calendar.
    • Attend ongoing training sessions and orientation.
    • Drive residents in the van as needed.
    • Work independently and perform dual tasks effectively.

    Qualifications:

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Assist in activity development and implementation.
    • Create interest and motivate residents to participate.
    • Display creativity and motivational skills.
    • Communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
    • Perform physical tasks including bending, stretching, lifting (minimum 15 lbs.), and moving carts.
    • Work independently with computer literacy in office software.

    Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.

    Experience: Experience in recreational therapy or related fields preferred; gerontology experience is a plus.

    Licenses: Valid driver's license required, with no more than two violations in three years.

    Physical Demands:

    • Dexterity for handling instruments and equipment.
    • Visual and auditory acuity.
    • Ability to lift at least 15 lbs., push/pull carts, and walk, sit, or stand for extended periods.
    • Ability to crouch, kneel, stoop, and reach as needed.
