Job description

Description

1. Assists the director in planning and carrying out a program of activities that provide entertainment, inter-communication, exercise, relaxation, opportunities to express creative talents, and fulfill basic psychological, social, and spiritual needs. These activities should be accessible to all residents, subject to written restrictions and limitations.
2. Encourages and facilitates craft activities among residents, either in groups or individually, in recreation areas or residents' rooms.
3. Encourages residents to participate in religious activities to fulfill their spiritual needs.
4. Visits non-ambulatory residents, writes letters for them, provides one-on-one visits, runs errands, assists residents to church services within limitations, reads to residents or provides appropriate reading materials, and offers activities tailored to individual residents.
5. Oversees and initiates volunteer groups involved in various activity programs.
