Job summary

Jones Street Residential, Inc. seeks a Leasing Consultant to drive high-quality customer service for current and prospective residents in Danbury, CT.

You will manage the leasing process from inquiry to occupancy, conduct site tours, screen applicants, and prepare lease documents to maximize occupancy and revenue. The role requires 1–2 years of sales experience in multi-family settings, strong communication, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of sales experience in a retail, hospitality, or multi-family environment.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with social media and marketing platforms preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Must have valid driver’s license and valid vehicle insurance.
• Yardi experience highly preferred.
• Must maintain a neat appearance and professional apparel.

Responsibilities

• Effectively develop and implement personal sales and telephone skills.
• Provide information about the apartments and the community to the prospective resident and schedule visits to the community.
• Responsible for the leasing process from introduction to occupancy and maintaining communication throughout tenancy.
• Collect security deposits, rent, and all other funds.
• Prepare all lease documentation following qualification, screening, and acceptance procedures.
• Work to optimize occupancy while maintaining lease rent and increasing traffic.
• Maintain prospect, traffic, and leasing data in database.
• Retain knowledge of market competition and prepare monthly surveys and analyze market trends.
• Respond to resident problems and ensure resolution of issues.
• Complete service requests and communicate with Maintenance.
• Support marketing efforts and input on promotions and advertising.
• Maintain knowledge of rent, vacancies, availability, lease expirations, square footage, etc.
• Inspect vacant apartments to ensure readiness for showing.
• Follow up with residents to establish positive relations.
• Communicate with Community Manager and Maintenance Manager.
• Implement community policies and ensure compliance with laws including Fair Housing.
