Job summary

UMMC Main Campus Jackson seeks a Medical Residency Program Coordinator to support the residency training program’s administration, ensure accreditation compliance, and manage program logistics.

You will coordinate recruitment, rotations, evaluations, and serve as liaison among residents, faculty, hospital departments, and accrediting bodies. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced academic medical environment are essential.

Qualifications

• Requires a degree (Associate's or Bachelor's) and two years of administrative support experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for coordination with students, faculty, and external partners.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage compliance and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Ensures compliance with program guidelines set by state, national, and university accrediting bodies to maintain ongoing accreditation.
• Manages student placement processes in accordance with established protocols, including coordinating residency and fellowship matches via ERAS.
• Develops and implements orientation programs; provides guidance on academic and programmatic issues as needed.
• Contributes to the creation and execution of departmental policies and procedures; assists in managing program budgets and expenditures.
• Oversees maintenance of program records, files, databases, and program-related web content to ensure accuracy and accessibility.
• Coordinates and supervises required educational activities, including scheduling, lectureships, and evaluations.
• Manages student and resident rotations, ensures appropriate scheduling, and monitors completion of all required evaluations; plans lectureships and events.
