Job summary

Residents Medical is seeking a Residency & Fellowship Counselor in Los Angeles to guide physician candidates from first contact to enrollment. You will conduct consultative calls, map residency pathways, and clearly explain services, fees, and PSA terms, while building trust and hitting enrollment goals.

You will manage candidate pipelines, maintain CRM records, and coordinate with placement teams, staying current on Match cycles and IMG immigration basics.

Qualifications

• MD or DO physicians seeking residency
• 2+ years in counseling, admissions, advising, or consultative sales in education or healthcare
• Strong interpersonal and active listening skills for high‑achieving candidates
• Goal‑oriented with enrollment and commission targets
• CRM fluency and reliable follow‑up

Responsibilities

• Explain RMG's services, guarantees, fee structures and PSA terms clearly
• Hit monthly enrollment and revenue targets while maintaining accuracy and candidate trust
• Maintain clean, current records in the CRM and hand off enrolled clients smoothly to placement/academic teams
• Stay current on residency/fellowship cycles, the Match, ACGME pathways, and IMG immigration basics

Job description

The Residency & Fellowship Counselor is the front line of the RMG client relationship. You guide prospective and enrolled physician candidates through their options, advise honestly on pathways to residency and fellowship, and convert qualified inquiries into committed clients — then support them through the engagement.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a pipeline of inbound and assigned candidate leads from first contact through enrollment
• Conduct consultative calls and meetings: understand each candidate's background, USMLE/COMLEX status, visa situation, and goals, and map realistic pathways
• Clearly and accurately explain RMG's services, what they do and don't guarantee, fee structures, and the PSA terms
• Hit monthly enrollment and revenue targets while maintaining a high standard of accuracy and candidate trust
• Maintain clean, current records in the CRM and hand off enrolled clients smoothly to placement/academic teams
• Stay current on residency/fellowship cycles, the Match, ACGME pathways, and IMG-relevant immigration basics

Requirements

• MD or DO doctors looking for residency
• 2+ years in counselling, admissions, advising, or consultative sales — ideally in education or healthcare
• Strong interpersonal and active-listening skills; able to build trust quickly with high-achieving, anxious, time-pressed candidates
• Goal-oriented and comfortable working toward enrollment and commission targets
• Organized, CRM-fluent, and reliable with follow-up

Preferred

• Knowledge of the U.S. medical residency system, USMLE, the NRMP Match, or the IMG journey
• Experience working with international clients across time zones and cultures
• Multilingual ability a plus
