Job summary

Independent Living Association NYC is seeking a Residence Supervisor to oversee day-to-day operations of our residences. You will supervise Direct Care Counselors, Cook, and Maintenance staff, provide training, and ensure safety, sanitation, and compliance with program policies while delivering direct services with care staff.

You will partner with the Residence Supervisor and Area Coordinator to manage staffing, evaluations, payroll, vendor relations, and community inclusion activities.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required; an Associate’s degree is preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience with the DD population.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and be computer literate.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to multi-task.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Direct Care Counselors, Cook and Maintenance personnel; provide training to staff.
• Manage day-to-day residence operations and report to Area Coordinator.
• Handle employee relations, conflict resolution, and performance evaluations for union staff.
• Ensure safety and sanitation in residences; manage vendor/supplier relationships.
• Complete payroll and approve staff vacation based on coverage.
• Provide direct services with care staff and plan community inclusion activities.
• Participate in staff recruitment events and discipline processes.
• Maintain staff coverage, fire drills, and data collection daily.
