Job summary

Independent Living Association NYC is seeking a Residence Supervisor to oversee day-to-day operations of the residences. You will supervise Direct Care Counselors, Cook and Maintenance staff, and ensure safety and sanitation, while coordinating support services for individuals.

You will collaborate with the Residence Supervisor and Area Coordinator to manage staffing, payroll, evaluations, and training, and participate in union-related processes to maintain high-quality care.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required; an Associate’s degree is preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience with the DD population.
• Must have a valid driver's license and be computer literate.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to multitask.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Direct Care Counselors, Cook and Maintenance staff; provide staff training.
• Manage residence in the absence of the Residence Supervisor; report to Area Coordinator.
• Handle employee relations and conflict resolution.
• Ensure safety and sanitation; maintain vendor and supplier services.
• Conduct performance evaluations of union staff.
• Attend job fairs with Recruitment Specialist.
• Participate in progressive disciplinary program implementation.
• Oversee payroll and staff vacation coverage.
• Provide emergency residence coverage when needed.
• Plan community inclusion activities and calendar (min 3x/week).
• Coordinate staffing with supervisor; participate in treatment plans.
• Support IDT recommendations implementation.

Education
