Job summary

SCO Family of Service in New York is seeking a Residence Manager to oversee daily operations of the residence and to ensure the well‑being, dignity, and personal development of the individuals supported, while maintaining OPWDD compliance.

You will supervise direct care staff, coordinate with healthcare providers, manage documentation, oversee budget and program development, and lead a collaborative care team to support findings and safety.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate’s degree in human services preferred.
  • Valid NYS driver’s license required.
  • Experience with developmental disabilities or traumatic brain injuries preferred.
  • Knowledge of OPWDD regulations and Justice Center requirements.
  • Ability to respond to emergencies professionally and effectively.
  • Must obtain and maintain AMAP, CPR, First Aid, and SCIP‑R certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure people supported receive care as outlined in Circle of Support plans including Life plans and CFAs.
  • Monitor and support implementation of program plans and behavior support strategies.
  • Maintain minimum of three documented community inclusion activities weekly for each person supported.
  • Create and maintain recreation calendar and oversee dietary planning, weight tracking, and dietary compliance.
  • Oversee medical needs through coordination with healthcare providers and timely documentation.
  • Supervise DSPs, conduct on-floor observations, and provide feedback.
  • Fill scheduling gaps and assist with staff scheduling.
  • Conduct and document performance evaluations for staff; train new staff and temporary employees; document training activities.
  • Conduct weekly supervision with full-time staff and complete end-of-shift reports as needed.
  • Ensure incident documentation per OPWDD standards; maintain assignment sheets, summary notes, and incident reports.
  • Upload PNA receipts via Accufund; manage food/supply orders via Coupa; oversee budget and payroll overtime.
  • Conduct weekly facility walkthroughs and document findings; maintain Fire Safety Book and train staff in fire safety; schedule van maintenance.
  • Behavioral & Clinical Support as needed; review behavior data and logs before shifts.
  • Ensure EHR procedures are followed; participate in clinical team meetings to monitor progress and program effectiveness.
  • Act as Residence Manager in absence; ensure continuity of operations and compliance.
