Job summary

The University of South Carolina seeks an Area Zone Maintenance Technician to support residence halls on the Columbia campus. You will perform skilled maintenance across carpentry, locksmithing, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and painting, troubleshoot complex issues, and document work orders for follow‑up with supervisors and customers.

You will work independently and as part of a team, handling preventive and corrective tasks while participating in an on-call rotation as essential personnel

Qualifications

Requires job related accreditation from a technical school or skilled trades program.
Minimum 3 years of job related experience preferred.
Knowledge of safety practices and ability to perform heavy manual labor.

Responsibilities

Provide skilled preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance in residence halls.
Perform carpentry, locksmithing, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and painting tasks as needed.
Complete and document work orders and coordinate with supervisor and staff.
Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours emergencies.
