Job summary

University of South Carolina on the Columbia campus is seeking a General Maintenance Tech II to provide skilled maintenance and repairs across carpentry, electrical, HVAC and plumbing systems. This full-time role supports the DAF Facilities Maintenance unit, with a focus on safe operation and high-quality service.

You will coordinate with supervisors, complete work orders, and maintain accurate records while supporting a flexible schedule and customer-focused service delivery.

Qualifications

• Requires job related accreditation from a technical school or an applicable skilled trades program.
• May substitue experience or certification for education per policy.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and implement safe, effective maintenance plans for carpentry, electrical, HVAC and plumbing systems.
• Coordinate with supervisors and coworkers on work orders, planning and inspection tasks.
• Provide exceptional customer service and clear communication with occupants and stakeholders.
• Record time, materials and services in CMMS/HCM systems and assist with inventory control.
• Perform other duties as required.
