Job summary

Article Student Living in Columbia, SC is seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician to uphold safety, curb appeal, and high maintenance standards across our property. You will service grounds, common areas, and resident-facing spaces while delivering professional, friendly service and maintaining a neat appearance.

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you’ll tackle a variety maintenance tasks, coordinate with licensed vendors for complex repairs, and support 1+ years of related experience.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of related maintenance experience on residential or commercial properties.
• Customer-service oriented with professional appearance and resident interaction.
• Basic knowledge of HVAC system maintenance and coordination with vendors.
• Experience with repair/installation of common appliances (fridge, range, dishwasher, washer/dryer).
• Ability to repair drywall, patching and finishing to move-in-ready condition.
• Experience painting interior and exterior surfaces, prep, cut-in and rolling.
• Basic plumbing knowledge: leaks, clogs, running toilets, fixtures.
• Basic electrical knowledge: troubleshoot outlets, switches and fixtures.

Responsibilities

• Support the Maintenance Supervisor to keep a safe environment for staff and residents.
• Resolve issues in the community and building operations.
• Provide suggestions for opportunities for improvement and efficiency.
• On-call during certain times of the month.
