Job summary

Fervo Energy is seeking a Reservoir Engineer focused on production forecasting and resource evaluation to link subsurface performance with corporate planning. You will build long-term production forecasts, support budgeting and investor materials, and lead economic evaluations across the portfolio.

The role emphasizes forecasting rigor, financial fluency, and clear communication of subsurface uncertainty to non-technical stakeholders. Collaboration with Finance and Development teams is essential.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Engineering (Petroleum, Mechanical, Chemical, or related) required.
• 5+ years of experience in reservoir engineering, reserves evaluation, or production forecasting.
• Strong understanding of decline curve analysis and production forecasting workflows.
• Experience with reserves estimation and reporting standards (e.g., SPE-PRMS).
• Experience building economic models (NPV, IRR) and sensitivity analyses.
• Strong financial modeling skills (advanced Excel) and forecasting tools.

Responsibilities

• Produce and maintain portfolio-wide production forecasts for long-term planning.
• Develop type curves and decline curves calibrated to field performance.
• Quantify subsurface uncertainty into probabilistic forecast ranges (P10/P50/P90).
• Collaborate with Corporate Finance to translate forecasts into cash flow models and investment materials.
• Conduct economic evaluations of prospects and capital projects including NPV, IRR, and payback.
