Job summary

Fervo Energy is seeking a Reservoir Engineer focused on production forecasting and resource evaluation to link subsurface performance with corporate planning. You will build and maintain production forecasts for long-term planning, support Finance with inputs for budgeting, and lead economic evaluations across the portfolio.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Engineering (Petroleum, Mechanical, Chemical, or related discipline).
  • 5+ years of reservoir engineering, reserves evaluation, or production forecasting.
  • Strong understanding of decline curve analysis, type curve development, and forecasting workflows.
  • Experience with reserves estimation and reporting standards (SPE-PRMS).
  • Experience building economic models (NPV, IRR, cash flow) and sensitivity/scenario analyses.
  • Strong financial modeling skills (advanced Excel) and familiarity with reservoir forecasting or simulation tools.
  • Ability to assess subsurface and forecast uncertainty and communicate risk clearly to financial and executive audiences.
  • Strong analytical, synthesis, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain portfolio-wide production forecasts for long-term planning.
  • Develop and update type curves and decline/analytical models.
  • Translate reservoir performance and uncertainty into probabilistic forecast ranges (P10/P50/P90).
  • Maintain the long-range plan (LRP) production forecast in coordination with Development and Corporate Finance.
  • Partner with Corporate Finance to translate forecasts into cash flow models and investor materials.
  • Support financing processes with technical forecast inputs and asset-level due diligence.
  • Conduct economic evaluations of new prospects, development scenarios, and capital projects (NPV, IRR).
  • Own recoverable resource estimates and HIIP; promote standard forecasting methodologies.
