Job summary

National EMR seeks reservists to assist impacted communities and first responders on an as-needed basis. This cadre is available to deploy quickly and travel within 24-48 hours. Roles vary by incident and require staying ready for shifts that may include nights, weekends, and holidays.

Reservists are retirees or former civil service staff who join as a movement or calling. This is not a full-time job; compensation is based on actual hours worked and job classification during deployments.

Qualifications

• Must hold Firefighter I certification and EMT certification in state of residence.
• Must be willing to obtain additional licenses as needed for mission assignments.
• Excellent communication in English and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Rotations include nights, weekends and holidays; travel/deploy within 24-48 hours when needed.
• Reservists are deployed as needed; not a guaranteed full-time position.

Responsibilities

• Understand and adhere to the National EMR Policies and Procedures Manual, Uniform Handbook, and Operations Manual.
• Foster a safety-oriented culture; report hazards to chain of command.
• Maintain active status in agency platforms and complete required training.
• Perform clinic duties or provide medical support/transport services per mission assignment.
• Provide patient care per certification level and medical protocols.
• Identify signs of abuse/neglect and document and report appropriately.
• Participate in disaster preparedness, response, and recovery initiatives as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
