Job Description

Compensation: $20.40 per hour

This is a temporary position that will end August 15, 2025.

Essential Duties

  • Technicians will prepare reagents, assemble, maintain and sample bioreactors.
  • Perform analytical chemistry of reactor samples.
  • Attend and present at lab and project meetings.
  • Prepare manuscripts/reports, analyze data.

Desired Qualifications

  • Masters degree in Chemical Engineering
  • Proficiency in environmental biotechnology techniques

Working Environment

  • Regular activities require ability to manage multiple tasks at one time, to be able to prioritize tasks; to manage conflict: to interact in a team environment: and to communicate effectively to exchange accurate information.
  • Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting and laboratory subject to extended periods of being in a stationary position, operating computer and other office productivity machinery; required to move a moderate distance to perform work.
  • Frequently moves up to 25 pounds for various needs.
  • Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts.
  • Ability to clearly communicate and exchange accurate information to perform essential duties.
  • May be required to wear personal protective equipment before entering laboratories such as lab coat, gloves, safety glasses, closed toe shoes and respirator.
  • Torres Lab within the Biodesign Swette Center for Environmental Biotechnology at the Biodesign Institute at ASU.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma and two-years (2) experience appropriate to the area of assignment/field; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
