Position Function:

Assist and implement research project on distribution of tick species that serve as hosts of Anaplasma sp in the Southeastern US.

Area of Specialization:

One Health

Anticipated Appointment Date:

December 2024.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Assist and conduct fieldwork for sample collection.
  2. Provide support to logistical tasks and permitting for research projects.
  3. Overnight travel for implementing field studies.
  4. Inventory of supplies and ordering or picking up local supplies as needed.
  5. Working in a team environment and individually.
  6. Data collection, entry and management using spreadsheet software such as Excel.
  7. Facility and equipment maintenance and coordination with PI, postdocs and students.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma.
Experience: Four (4) years experience relevant to duties described above.
Substitution: An equivalent combination of related education and related experience may be considered for this position.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree.
Experience with research process, data collection and curation, laboratory equipment, and research supporting tasks.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Strong verbal and written communications skills. Organization skills.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort:

Working in a wet laboratory, office, and outdoors.
