Job summary

Dow invites applications for a Research Scientist in Lake Jackson, TX, to advance gas treating and carbon capture innovations within the Industrial Solutions Energy Platform. The role blends process modeling, technoeconomic analysis and collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams to drive technology development and customer engagement.

The ideal candidate will have a BS in chemical/energy-related engineering (PhD preferred), 3–5+ years of relevant experience, and the ability to work in the

Qualifications

BS in Chemical Engineering, Petroleum/Environmental fields or similar; PhD preferred.
3+ years in industry; 5+ years preferred.
US work authorization without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

Model gas treating plants with amines/glycol solvents for gas sweetening and dehydration.
Develop expertise in gas treating process simulation using proprietary and commercial tools.
Perform technoeconomic analysis including capital/opex estimates.
Create process design packages per established engineering practice.
Interface with R&D, Technical Sales, Commercial, and Marketing teams.
Collaborate with lab teams on properties and pilot plant work.
Monitor market trends and contribute to IP generation.
Document work and publish in journals/conferences.
