Dow invites applications for a Research Scientist position located in Lake Jackson, TX, to join a high-performing R&D team focused on gas treating, carbon capture, and innovation in petrochemical processing. The role offers leadership opportunities in projects, direct customer engagement, and cross-functional collaboration across global regions.

The ideal candidate has strong process modeling skills, experience with gas treatment simulations, and a record of technical publication or IP

Qualifications

BS in Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Chemistry, Process Engineering, Energy Engineering, or Environmental Engineering or similar field required.
PhD preferred.

Responsibilities

Conduct chemical process modeling for gas treating plant design using alkanolamine and glycol-based solvents.
Develop subject matter expertise in gas treating process simulation with ProComp, Aspen Plus, and other simulators.
Perform technoeconomic analysis including capital and operating cost estimation.
Create process design packages extending Dow’s gas treating portfolio.
Interface with stakeholders across R&D, Technical Sales, Commercial and Marketing.
Collaborate with laboratory teams to develop properties and support pilot plants.
Document work and publish external papers; contribute to IP and pipeline development.
