Job summary

Dow is seeking a Research Scientist to join the Industrial Solutions Energy Platform in Lake Jackson, TX. This role collaborates with a high-performing R&D team on gas treating and carbon capture, with opportunities for project leadership, customer engagement, and business development.

The candidate will model processes, perform technoeconomic analysis, and interface with multiple functions to advance Dow’s gas treating innovations globally. Travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or PhD in Chemical Engineering or related field; PhD preferred.
• 3+ years of relevant industry experience; 5+ preferred.
• U.S. work authorization required; no visa sponsorship available.

Responsibilities

• Conduct chemical process modeling for gas treating plant design using alkanolamine and glycol solvents.
• Develop process simulation expertise with proprietary and commercial platforms.
• Perform technoeconomic analyses including capex and opex estimation.
• Create process design packages and extend Dow’s gas treating portfolio.
• Interface with stakeholders across R&D, technical sales, and marketing.
• Collaborate with lab teams for property data and pilots; monitor market trends.
• Support ideation and pipeline for a global R&D project portfolio and IP generation.
• Document findings in internal reports and publish externally as appropriate.
