Job summary

Vertex Pharmaceuticals seeks a Research Scientist in Analytical Development focused on Functional Genomics and Multi-omics. You will develop and optimize sequencing-based methods for PSC bank characterization, bridging wet-lab work with bioinformatics to deliver robust, scalable workflows.

You will translate high-dimensional sequencing results into practical assays, collaborate across teams, and contribute to reproducible, quality-driven method development and implementation.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. (or equivalent) with 0–3 years post-doc experience.
• Experience with PSC culture, maintenance, and passaging.
• Experience with single-cell transcriptomic or epigenomic analysis.
• Proven ability to develop reproducible bioinformatics pipelines and containerization.
• Familiarity with HPC environments and cloud concepts (AWS).
• Experience translating multi-omic biomarkers into targeted RT-qPCR/ChIP-qPCR assays.

Responsibilities

• Develop omics- and sequencing-based analytical methods for PSC banks.
• Translate sequencing findings into targeted assays like RT-qPCR/ChIP-qPCR.
• Analyze bulk, single-cell and multi-omic datasets with bioinformatics.
• Design experiments to evaluate method performance and acceptance criteria.
• Collaborate with analytic development, process development, and bioinformatics teams.
