Job description

Yoh presents an excellent long-termopportunity for a Scientist within Automation/Biochemistry for a trusted client located in Waltham, MA.

Key Responsibilities:

Laboratory Automation:

• Develop and test protocols on complex, integrated laboratory automation systems
• Problem solve and implement custom solutions for scientists using automation work cells
• Implementation of liquid handling methods across a variety of available equipment
• Work with scientists to set up interfaces between databases and laboratory instrumentation
• Troubleshoot and aid with error handling and maintenance of automation systems
• Regularly provide and update technical documentation
• Provide user support and training

Database and inventory management

• Work with internal automation, digital, and computational teams to implement data management and visualization best practices.
• Statistical interpretation and data correlation (PCA, tSNE, or similar)
• Data analysis for a myriad of biochemical data including protein-protein interactions (ELISA, SPR, BLI…), protein quality (SEC, DSF, DSC…), biochemical (SEC, protein thermal shift…) and biophysical (SPR, BLI…)
• Demonstrate technical proficiency with the ability to problem solve in a broad array of experimental protocols.

Project Contribution

• Present concise scientific presentations in line with project objectives
• Support and in some cases lead internal site‑specific projects.
• Assist with and/or prepare publications, proposals, reports, patents, and grant applications.
• Critically evaluate relevant literature to provide experimental and strategic input to senior team members as needed.
• Actively take part in the training of technical staff

GRP and HSE

• Comply with the company safety policies and HSE to minimize risk to self, others and the environment, consistent with HSE policies, community and industry standards.
• Identify and help to improve best practices in HSE operations.
• Ensure documentation of laboratory experiments are entered in ELSE in a timely manner: analyze and summarize experimental outcomes, record experimental procedures and raw and analyzed data.
• Participate in generating/reviewing SOPs and other required documents.
• Remain compliant with applicable trainings.

Qualifications & Skills:

Ph.D. in data science, computer science, or related field with 0-2 years of experience, or Masters’ degree and 5 years’ experience. Knowledge and hands‑on experience with Hamilton Venus, Cellario (or other integration scheduling software), GeneData Biologics, Benchling, and/or Python and basic computer programming.

Strong interpersonal, communication, collaboration, leadership, and problem‑solving skills are required.

Understanding of laboratory practices and biochemical/scientific terminology are required.
