A leading company in health disparities research is seeking a part-time Research Project Coordinator Generalist. You will manage communications, assist with community-based studies aimed at cancer prevention, along with data management tasks. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to meaningful research while enhancing organizational and communication skills within a collaborative environment.
Position Overview:
This is a temporary, part-time grant supported position, working approximately 20 hours per week, and is expected to last 12 months with the option to extend based on satisfactory performance, ability of work, and departmental funding. The position may include some early morning, early evening, or weekend hours.
The Department of Family Medicine and Community Health is seeking a Research Project Coordinator Generalist to serve on a set of studies in the Program for Health Disparities Research. The successful candidate will assist the Principal Investigators and other study staff with a range of activities related to research, implementation, and evaluation of cancer prevention and screening interventions, including 1) a NIH-funded project to adapt and test an evidence-based intervention to connect Somali parents who smoke with cessation resources, 2) a community-based research pilot intervention to reduce shisha smoke exposure in Somali homes, and 3) other departmental research activities as appropriate. The Research Project Coordinator will be responsible for managing strong and regular communication with and between the study team and participating clinics and community partners and will work closely with the principal investigators and collaborators to ensure its success.

The Department of Family Medicine and Community Health at the University of Minnesota was created more than 50 years ago in response to a legislative mandate to train primary care physicians. Pay Range: $27.00 to 28.00 per hour, we anticipate most offers will be around the midpoint of this range, depending on education and experience.
