Job summary

  • Other duties as assigned.

Research Program Coordinator

Location: PICKLE RESEARCH CAMPUS

Weekly Scheduled Hours: 40 hours per week

FLSA Status: Exempt

Earliest Start Date: Immediately

Position Duration: Expected to Continue

Purpose

The Research Program Coordinator will work within a space geodesy research program at the University of Texas at Austin, supported by multiple research grants and contracts from NASA, DoD, and industry. The coordinator will facilitate active research program coordination across faculty, research staff, and students, ensuring effective management of projects, budgets, and reporting.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with discovery, planning, budgeting, writing and formatting of grant proposal submissions.
  • Prepare templates and write reports and other correspondence related to the research and program in accordance with grant guidelines, collating technical contributions from researchers.
  • Assist with labor allocation and budget tracking across multiple grants/contracts.
  • Develop research program guidelines/activities and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Discover and report on peer work in blogs, websites, and trade articles.
  • Participate in the writing and editing process of manuscripts for submission to scientific journals.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Three (3) years of experience coordinating or administering a program.
Preferred Qualifications
  • B.S. or B.A. in STEM or Liberal Arts in technical disciplines.
  • More than three years of experience in research program coordination.
  • Experience with composition using MS Office and LaTeX.
  • Experience with MS Excel tools for planning.
  • Strong verbal communication, technical writing, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to take initiative and drive for results in an interrupt-driven, fast-paced environment.
  • Prior work experience in higher education, particularly in STEM or research operations.
Salary Range

$50,000+ depending on qualifications and experience.

Working Conditions
  • Standard office conditions with occasional after‑hours work.
  • Climbing of stairs.
  • Repetitive use of a keyboard and mouse.
  • Work Shift: Monday – Friday, typical office hours plus occasional after-hours work.
