General Notes: This is a fixed‑term position that goes through December of 2027. This position is located at the J.J. Pickle Research Campus in North Austin.
Purpose: Position will assist in mineral resource assessment and characterization studies, especially aggregate and industrial mineral mapping initiatives. The position will assist with the Mineral Resource Program tasks utilizing GIS, satellite imagery, and database development for generating geologic maps.
MS in Geology or related discipline with no experience or BS in Geology or related discipline with at least 2 years related experience. GIS skills, familiar with mineral resources, geologic mapping experience.
Knowledge of Texas geology, air‑ and space‑borne satellite imagery analysis used in geologic mapping, mineral resource characterization and assessment experience, aggregates, urban planning practices.
$65,000 + depending on qualifications

The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
