Job summary

General Notes:

The National Center for STEM Education works to strengthen the STEM educator pipeline by supporting the preparation of future STEM teachers, advancing professional learning, fostering partnerships, and developing innovative approaches to STEM teaching and learning. We house the UTeach STEM Educators Association (USEA), a professional organization comprised of faculty, staff, and alumni from national UTeach programs.

While funding is expected to continue, this position is funded through grants, contracts, and department-generated funds.

Purpose:

Provide advanced coordination for state and national professional learning initiatives including professional development events, campus visits, district communications, Communities of Practice, data tracking, dashboard maintenance, reporting support, operational documentation, and major projects for K12 STEM Education at the National Center for STEM Education.

Serving as a central point of coordination across districts, facilitators, vendors, state agency partners, University staff and internal teams, this position ensures high-quality implementation, timely completion of deliverables, continuous program improvement, and exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities:

  • Program and Project Coordination: Coordinate assigned programs, projects, events, meetings, site visits, professional development activities, and related initiatives to ensure timelines, deliverables, documentation, and stakeholder needs are met.
  • Event, Meeting, and Engagement Support: Plan and support logistics, agendas, materials, participant communication, facilitation support, attendance tracking, feedback collection, and follow-up for in-person, virtual, and hybrid activities.
  • Stakeholder Communication and Liaison Support: Serve as a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, including school districts, agency partners, vendors, university staff, facilitators, and program teams, to support effective coordination and timely resolution of needs.
  • Data, Documentation, and Reporting Support: Maintain program records, communication hubs, dashboards, trackers, survey results, implementation artifacts, and other documentation needed for reporting, evaluation, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement.
  • Program Resources and Continuous Improvement: Support the development and maintenance of playbooks, manuals, procedures, templates, digital updates, storytelling materials, communities of practice, and other resources that promote best practices, stakeholder engagement, and consistent program implementation.

Required Qualifications:

Experience coordinating events, meetings, professional development, or similar programs. Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects, timelines, stakeholders, and deliverables simultaneously. Excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills with the ability to support diverse stakeholders. Experience collecting, organizing, and maintaining program data, reports, documentation and implementation records. Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams, with the ability to effectively use technology to support administrative, operational, and communication needs. Ability to work collaboratively or independently with minimal supervision. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience supporting professional development in K12 school settings. Experience supporting virtual, hybrid, and in-person events. Experience supporting contract- or grant-funded initiatives, especially projects involving state agencies, ESCs, school districts or campus partners. Experience supporting Communities of Practice, technical assistance programs, coaching networks, or educator learning communities. Experience creating or formatting professional materials using digital design, publishing, or presentation tools. Experience with Google Workspace, Canva, Smartsheet, CVENT, and email marketing platforms. Experience developing operational procedures, workflows, or documentation to support program implementation.

Salary:

$62,000+ depending on qualifications

Working Conditions

  • This position requires approximately up to 10% travel.
  • Work in typical office space, including repetitive use of a keyboard.
  • Occasionally lift and move boxes up to 50 pounds.
  • This position is an in-person position on the West Pickle Research campus.

Employment Eligibility:

Retirement Plan Eligibility:

The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
