The Arthur Riggs Diabetes & Metabolism Research is looking for a Research Laboratory Assistant.Under limited supervision, you will be responsible for the collection, classification and filing of scientific data. You will also be responsible for preparing solutions, labeling tubes/specimen containers and maintaining laboratory supplies.
As a successful candidate you will:
*Collect, wash, clean and sterilize used glassware, equipment and supplies using proper sterilization techniques.
*Assist in the care and maintenance of laboratory work area and furnishings/equipment
*Receive, distribute and maintain supply inventories in laboratories as needed
*Prepare simple stains, solutions, culture media, and process tissue samples following established protocols and procedures as needed
*Maintain required records, reports and statistics as directed.
Qualifications
Your qualifications should include:
*High School diploma or equivalent.
*Minimum of one year of related experience required.Two years of experience is preferred.
