Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Lab Operations Specialist to manage the daily operations of the laboratory, balancing administrative duties with direct involvement in the lab's research initiatives. You will coordinate schedules, supervise staff, ensure quality of procedures, maintain equipment and inventories, and support compliance with safety guidelines.

A Bachelor's in Life Sciences and 3–5 years of related experience are required; Master’s preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
• 3–5 years related work experience required.
• Advanced skills with Microsoft applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access and other web-based applications.
• May produce complex documents, perform analysis and maintain databases.

Responsibilities

• Independently responsible for the daily operations of the laboratory including both administrative duties and direct involvement in the research endeavors of the lab.
• Coordinates and oversees the work of research personnel; implements research schedules and ensures the quality of lab procedures.
• Remains current in the technologies used in the lab and participates in improving operations of the lab, both administratively and scientifically.
• Recommends and implements changes.
• Supervises, orients and trains staff; ensures compliance to lab safety guidelines and accurate record keeping.
