  • Bringing together scientists, physicians and business leaders experienced in transforming promising laboratory discoveries into therapies providing improved patient treatment.
  • Funding selected projects and providing project management, technological transfer and practical assistance to ensure project success.
  • Identifying high yield translational medical research with a 2-3 year horizon for implementation in patients.
Key Tasks And Responsibilities

The individual will work in a creative and multidisciplinary team with other scientists on novel designs for immunomodulatory and cell-gene therapies for type I diabetes. Studies will involve therapeutic studies in established mouse models of disease and application of immunologic tools to define key mechanisms of action in graft immune protection. The fellow will be directly responsible for the conduct of experiments and will work with a team in analysis of data. Projects will involve work with outside academic and industry collaborators.

Essential Requirements
  • PhD in Biology, Immunology, Biochemistry, or a related field
  • Strong publication record and demonstrated ability to write funding proposals.
