The Mass Spectrometry Shared Resource of the Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory is seeking a Research Associate, with specific expertise in intact protein LC ESI-MS analyses and measurements of chemically modified proteins and peptides. The laboratory uses state-of-the-art techniques and mass spectrometric instrumentation to measure proteins, peptides and small molecules in collaboration with research groups at CSHL and at external partner organizations. Developing and publishing innovative approaches for proteomic and metabolomic analyses is a core mission of the lab. The successful applicant will participate in all laboratory activities, ranging from sample processing and mass spectrometry-based proteomic methods development to instrumentation maintenance. In addition, Research Associates will actively contribute to lab meetings, scientific presentations, and journal clubs.
Willingness to be an active member of the CSHL scientific community, and to constantly learn and
explore new topics and approaches are paramount. The ability to positively interact with other group
members while being individually productive is also required.
PhD degree in Analytical Chemistry, Biotechnology, or related field is required. Demonstrable experience with mass spectrometry-based proteomics, high-resolution LC/MS is very important.
