Labcorp is seeking a Research Assistant to join the Post Life team in Greenfield, IN. You will perform necropsy and histology tasks on various laboratory animals, while ensuring welfare and regulatory compliance.

The role involves tissue processing, embedding, and assisting with euthanasia under USDA guidelines. Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in animal science or related fields (or an associate’s in veterinary technology).

• Experience with small and large animal dissections preferred.
• Comfortable working in an animal research facility.

Responsabilidades

• Perform basic necropsy or histology tasks on laboratory animals following SOPs and GLPs.
• Monitor animal health and welfare in compliance with relevant acts and AAALAC standards.
• Maintain records, perform tissue processing, embedding, and euthanasia procedures per USDA rules.
• Assist in quality controls, resource tracking, and protocol interpretation.

Research Assistant -Study Technician Post Life

Labcorp is seeking a Research Assistant to join our Post Life team in Greenfield, IN!

Job Responsibilities

• Perform basic necropsy or histology tasks on a variety of laboratory animals in compliance with the appropriate SOPs, GLPs, and regulatory guidelines
• Monitor animal health and welfare in compliance with the Animal Health and Welfare Act and help maintain facilities for AAALAC compliance
• Performing multiple tissue freezing techniques and measuring of tissues
• Performing histological trimming, bagging of tissues, and embedding
• Learns to perform various methods of euthanasia on multiple species according to USDA regulations (if applicable)
• Participates in quality controls and assures correction of errors (incl. documentation)
• Participate in monitoring and tracking resources (e.g., equipment, rooms, study supplies)
• Adapts techniques to new procedures or particular needs as directed
• Learn how to interpret a study protocol
• Reports all animal care concerns and becomes involved in the resolution and appropriate corrective action, when necessary
• Maintains a safe and clean work environment
• Maintains client confidentiality at all times
• Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in animal science, biology, chemistry, microbiology, biochemistry OR associate’s degree in veterinary technician

Preferred Qualifications

• 6 months or more of experience with small and large animal dissections
• 6 months or more of experience in animal handling

Additional Job Standards

• Comfortable working in Animal Research Facility
• Comfortable with performing small and large animal necropsy -training provided

Pay Rate

$22/hr.
