Labcorp is seeking a Research Study Technician to join the Animal Operations team in Madison, WI. You will support early development studies by handling animals, dosing, collecting samples, and ensuring compliance with GLP and SOPs.

The role offers a daytime schedule with some overtime and weekend requirements. Qualified candidates include those with a Life Science degree or an Associate degree in Laboratory Animal Technology or Veterinary Technology plus relevant experience; AALAS certification

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a Life Science discipline or Associate degree in Laboratory Animal Technology or Veterinary Technology with 6 months+ experience.
• 6 months+ direct animal care experience in a research lab or farming operation is preferred.
• AALAS Certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Research Study Technician applies scientific methods to assess drug safety and toxicity in early development animal studies.
• Handle and restrain animals and provide husbandry duties as needed.
• Perform dosing techniques on small and large animals and administer test items.
• Collect biological samples and perform clinical observations under GLP and SOPs.
• Organize study activities and data, maintaining AAALAC-compliant animal welfare standards.

Labcorp is seeking a recent or upcoming grad for a Research Study Technician position to join our Animal Operations team in Madison, WI!

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 6:30 am-3:15 pm CST with some weekends required.

Job Responsibilities:

As a Research Study Technician, you’ll apply your scientific curiosity in researching the effectiveness, safety and toxicity of drugs in early development animal research studies. Handling and restraining animals. May provide husbandry duties to small and large animals. Perform various dosing techniques with small and large animals. Administering test items. Collecting biological samples. Performing clinical observations. Collecting and reviewing data in accordance with the Good Laboratory Practice Regulations (GLP) and standard operating procedures. Organizing study related activities and data. Maintaining the highest standards of animal care and welfare in accordance with the Association for Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care International (AAALAC).

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in a Life Science discipline (Biology, Wildlife, Pre-veterinary, Zoology, Animal Science, or related Life Science disciplines) OR Associate degree in Laboratory Animal Technology or Veterinary Technology plus 6 months or more of experience in clinical support, laboratory animal care, or assisting veterinary or research staff in a regulated laboratory or research environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

6 months or more of direct animal care experience in a research lab or farming operation (large or small animals). AALAS Certification.

Pay Rate:

$23/hr. After initial training period (based on performance) $.50 increase. This is a future hire position with an future start date. The ideal candidate would be available to start in May 2027 through October 2027. Candidates who have recently completed a degree or will complete a degree within the next academic year may find this opportunity aligns well with their career goals.
