Job summary

Fifth Third Bank in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a Repossession Specialist to manage skip tracing, processing of repossession assignments, and negotiations to resolve impounds, storage, and repair fees. You will work M-F 8am-5pm, ensuring compliance with applicable laws while collaborating with teams to deliver reliable service.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in collections/repossession and strong communication, negotiation, and data management skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 2 years of collections/repossession experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research, utilize skip tracing tools, and evaluate data from multiple sources to make strategic decisions.
• Submit repossession assignments/reassignments using multiple systems.
• Monitor communications regarding impounds and negotiate storage/tow/repair charges.
• Process and document requests for repossession cancellations and redemptions.
• Reconcile vendor invoices to ensure charges are paid and adjustments are posted.
• Follow state and federal laws to protect the Bank and customers.
