Job summary

Pengate Handling Systems, Inc. is seeking a Rental Manager to lead the day-to-day Rental Department operations, drive team performance, and coordinate with Sales, Service, Dispatch, and Accounting to ensure equipment is prepared, delivered, tracked, and returned efficiently.

The role emphasizes team leadership, process improvement, and close attention to rental profitability, with responsibilities spanning quotes, contracts, scheduling, and equipment records.

Qualifications

• 2–3+ years in rental operations, equipment rental, or related field.
• Previous management or leadership experience.
• Rental industry experience strongly preferred.
• Strong customer service and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to manage multiple requests and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Rental Team: manage, train, and develop a team of five or more employees; coordinate daily schedules and onboarding; implement processes to improve efficiency and customer service.
• Manage Rental Operations: work with customers to assess needs, prepare quotes/contracts, coordinate deliveries, returns, and documentation.
• Oversee Fleet & Inventory: track equipment, maintain records, monitor leases and inventory levels, coordinate demo equipment.
• Monitor Department Performance: ensure invoicing accuracy, work with Accounting on past-due accounts, generate management reports.
