Job summary

T & M Hardware & Rental is seeking a Rental Manager to oversee day-to-day rental department operations, drive sales, ensure equipment readiness, and deliver outstanding customer service. You will lead a motivated team, coordinate deliveries, and maintain safety and quality standards across the rental floor.

Ideal candidates will have strong leadership, communication, and operational knowledge, with a focus on teamwork, training, and customer satisfaction in a locally owned hardware environment.

• Understanding of store operations, including finances and inventory control.
• Strong math, reading, and writing skills; knowledge of sales methods.
• Familiarity with the store’s point-of-sale system; MS Word and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Model excellent customer service and assist customers as needed.
• Oversee daily opening and closing of the rental department.
• Supervise equipment maintenance and repair management.
• Foster customer confidence in operating rental equipment safely.
• Respond to and resolve customer complaints promptly.
• Maintain rental equipment per specifications.
• Coordinate rental deliveries, pick-ups, and inter-store movement.
• Keep equipment clean and signage updated; maintain pricing displays.
• Ensure the rental department stays clean and orderly.
• Promote safety and enforce store policies and safety standards.
• Protect equipment and store property from loss per policy.
