Qualifications

• Experience in fleet compliance, asset management, or heavy equipment maintenance coordination.
• Working knowledge of DOT and state inspection, titling, and registration requirements across multiple states.
• Ability to schedule and coordinate preventative maintenance across a large, distributed fleet.
• Sound judgment for triage decisions — knowing when to pull equipment back versus repair it in the field.
• Comfortable working closely with Service technicians and coordinating their schedules.
• Strong organizational and recordkeeping skills; asset documentation has to be complete and audit-ready at all times.

Responsibilities

• Keep fleet records current and audit-ready in the ERP/fleet management system.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Sherman + Reilly is hiring the person who will own compliance, safety technology, and mechanical integrity for our rental fleet — 150+ units and growing, spread across multiple states. This is an asset-stewardship role, not a customer-facing one: you are responsible for the equipment being registered, inspected, insured, monitored, and mechanically sound, regardless of where it is or who is renting it. At this fleet size, MSOs, titles, registrations, and DOT inspections for 150+ pieces of equipment across multiple states is a real job on its own — before accounting for telematics administration, the Lytx dash cam program, preventative maintenance scheduling, and field repair coordination. You'll work closely with the Rental Coordinator, who owns the customer-facing side of the rental lifecycle: they keep the customer informed, while you run the actual problem resolution behind the scenes — deciding whether a down unit gets a technician dispatched, a third-party repair, or a pull-back.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Fleet compliance — maintain MSOs, titles, registrations, and license plates for every unit, and keep required state/DOT inspections and insurance documentation current across all states of operation.
• Telematics & safety technology — own installation, administration, and exception reporting for the fleet's telematics, plus the Lytx dash cam program and driver behavior follow-up.
• Preventative maintenance — schedule PM based on hours, mileage, and calendar intervals, maintain service history for every unit, and coordinate the work with Service technicians.
• Field repair triage — evaluate incoming issues relayed from the Rental Coordinator and hold decision authority on technician dispatch, third-party repair, or equipment pull-back.
• Parts and consumables planning — anticipate what the fleet's PM schedule will need and keep the pipeline ahead of it.
• Cross-functional coordination — serve as the operational counterpart to the Rental Coordinator, giving them the dispatch, maintenance, and repair status they need to keep customers informed.
• Asset data integrity — keep fleet records current and audit-ready in the ERP/fleet management system.

Requirements:

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Experience in fleet compliance, asset management, or heavy equipment maintenance coordination.
• Working knowledge of DOT and state inspection, titling, and registration requirements for commercial equipment across multiple states.
• Ability to schedule and coordinate preventative maintenance across a large, distributed fleet.
• Sound judgment for triage decisions — knowing when to pull equipment back versus repair it in the field.
• Comfortable working closely with Service technicians and coordinating their schedules.
• Strong organizational and recordkeeping skills; asset documentation has to be complete and audit-ready at all times.

Preferred

• Experience managing a fleet of 100+ units across multiple states.
• Direct experience administering telematics or dash cam safety programs (e.g., Lytx or similar).
• Background in heavy equipment, utility equipment, or industrial rental fleets.
• Familiarity with ERP or fleet management systems for asset tracking.
