Job summary

Gillman Home Center in Ohio seeks a rental mechanic to keep our equipment clean and well maintained. You will perform repairs, handle maintenance, and ensure safety standards are met for all rental gear.

You will interact with customers, process contracts, handle payments, and assist with deliveries, pickups, and on-site setup as needed. Valid driver's license required; Stihl certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; 1+ year related experience or training.
• 1+ years knowledge of general machine maintenance.
• Valid driver’s license required; chauffeur’s license preferred.
• Stihl certification preferred; training provided.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
• Cleans all rental equipment.
• Conducts repairs and maintenance on rental equipment; generates purchase orders for repairs or required maintenance.
• Purchases small tools and any supplies needed to repair the equipment.
• Inspects equipment on a regular basis to comply with company safety policies.
• Assists in updating DMV registration and current insurance.
• Checks out customers at the rental counter, including completing contracts, taking payment and instructing customer on how to use the item.
• Deliver and pick up rental items as needed.
• Set up and take down rental equipment if requested.
• Help load and unload equipment as needed.
• Repair Stihl certified equipment.
• Help out in lumber yard and inside the store as needed.
