Job summary

Gillman Home Center is hiring a rental mechanic to maintain and clean rental equipment, perform repairs, and handle customer transactions at the rental counter. The role includes assisting with DMV registrations, deliveries, and set-up, with weekend availability and physical lifting requirements.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, and 1+ year of general machine maintenance knowledge. Stihl certification is preferred and training is provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent
• 1+ years knowledge of general machine maintenance
• Valid Driver's License required; Chauffeur’s license preferred but not required
• Stihl certification preferred, training provided to obtain this certification

Responsibilities

• Cleans all rental equipment.
• Performs repairs and maintenance on rental equipment; generates purchase orders for repairs or maintenance.
• Purchases small tools and supplies needed for repairs.
• Inspects equipment to comply with safety policies.
• Assists with DMV registration and current insurance updates.
• Checks out customers at the rental counter and handles contracts and payments.
• Delivers and picks up rental items as needed.
• Sets up and takes down rental equipment upon request.
• Assists loading/unloading equipment as needed.
• Supports lumber yard and in-store tasks as required
