Job summary

Gillman Home Center is seeking a rental mechanic to keep our equipment clean and well maintained. You will repair and service rental gear, generate repair orders, and purchase needed supplies while upholding safety and DMV/insurance updates.

The role requires strong customer service, ability to operate checkout at the rental counter, and occasional yard and store assistance. A valid driver's license is required; Stihl certification is preferred and training is available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or 1-3 years of related experience or training or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 1+ years knowledge of general machine maintenance.
• Valid Driver's License required. Chauffeur’s license preferred but not required.
• Stihl certification preferred, will provide training to obtain this certification.

Responsibilities

• Provides excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
• Cleans all rental equipment.
• Conducts repairs and maintenance on rental equipment; generates purchase orders for repairs or required maintenance.
• Purchases small tools and any supplies needed to repair the equipment.
• Inspects equipment on a regular basis to comply with company safety policies.
• Assists in updating DMV registration and current insurance.
• Checks out customers at the rental counter, including completing contracts, taking payment and instructing customer on how to use the item.
• Deliver and pick up rental items as needed.
• Set up and take down rental equipment if requested.
• Help load and unload equipment as needed.
• Repair Stihl certified equipment.
• Help out in lumber yard and inside the store as needed.
