Alyeska Resort in Girdwood, Alaska seeks a Rental Clerk to help guests gear up for a day on the slopes. You’ll guide guests in selecting boots, skis, or snowboards and ensure correct fit based on height, weight, and skill, while handling rental paperwork and processing returns with care.

You’ll contribute to a smooth, welcoming guest experience in a dynamic mountain setting. Starting wage is $18 per hour with flexible schedules, potential employee housing options, and benefits including

• High school diploma or 1–3 months related experience and/or training.
• Previous sales experience is a plus, as is handling cash and operating a cash register.
• Ability to read, write, and understand simple instructions and present information effectively to customers.

Responsibilities

• Complete rental paperwork and ensure all documents are finished.
• Handle returned equipment with care and check for damage.

WhatYou’llDo

Asa Rental Clerk, your role is to create a welcoming and seamless experience for our guests as they prepare for a day on the slopes.You'll be assisting guests in selecting the right boots, skis, or snowboards tailored to their specific needs based on factors like height, weight, and skill level. In addition to ensuring that the paperwork is complete, you'll handle equipment with care when it's returned and ensure that cash transactions are managed accurately. Your responsibilities will include:

• Greet guests with a smile and a professional demeanor as they arrive.
• Help guests choose the right-sized boots, skis, and snowboards based on height, weight, and skill level. Calculate binding tensions and pole lengths to ensure a comfortable fit.
• Present rental agreements, address guest questions, and ensure the completion of all necessary documents.
• Handle returned equipment with care, checking for any damage or issues.
• Accurately count cash and prepare it for bank deposits.
• Operate our point-of-salesystem, make change, and reconcile at the end of your shift.

What We Need

• High school diploma or equivalent, or 1 to 3 months of related experience and/or training.
• Previous sales experience is a plus, as is handling cash and operating a cash register.
• Ability to read, write, and understand simple instructions, as well as present information effectively to customers, clients, and fellow employees.
• Proficiency in basic math, from addition and subtraction to calculating discounts, interest, proportions, and more.
• Capable of defining problems, collecting data, and drawing valid conclusions.
• Comfortable interpreting technical instructions in both mathematical and diagram form, dealing with abstract and concrete variables.
• A working knowledge of ski and/or snowboard equipment and accessories.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities, as well as effective interpersonal skills.
• Stellar customer service skills with the ability to assist guests of all ages, backgrounds,&abilities.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.

What to Expect

• Be on alert and at times, on your feet forlong periods, including nights, weekends,&holidays.
• Work in a fast-paced, high-energy resort environment.
• Adapt to seasonal changes around the resort andspecial events.

Physical demands:

Ability to lift up-to 50 pounds, bend, stoop, walk, push or pull heavy equipment and stand for extended periods of time.

Work Environment

The noise in this work environment is usually moderate.Physical terrain in the work environment can be uneven with poor traction; there is ice and snow outside, and wet floors indoors. This role occasionally involves extended hours, nights, and weekends to accommodate peak business periods. Operating within a dynamic, fast-paced guest-centric setting, you willmaintaina high level of interaction with staff, guests, and stakeholders.
