Job summary

Ulteig is seeking a Structural Engineer Intern to join our Renewables team, supporting the design and development of utility-scale solar and battery energy storage (BESS) projects. This internship offers hands‑on experience under the guidance of experienced professionals.

You’ll gain experience applying classroom knowledge to engineering design, learn AutoCAD Civil 3D plan production, and work across disciplines on real projects that support the energy transition.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in civil or structural engineering.
• Prior experience or coursework in AutoCAD Civil 3D software design, structural analysis, steel/concrete design, and geotechnical engineering is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design and preparation of development and construction plans for utility-scale solar and BESS renewable energy projects.
• Work collaboratively with engineers and technicians across disciplines on multiple active projects.
• Learn and apply AutoCAD Civil 3D plan production.
• Learn and apply structural foundation analysis, design, and techniques.
• Support the preparation of design deliverables, including plans, reports, and permit documentation.
• Gain exposure to regulatory frameworks and standards relevant to structural design in the renewable energy sector.
• Perform engineering calculations, develop standard details, and assist in the preparation of technical drawings.
• May assist in field visits to support data collection or site assessments, depending on project needs.
